Programs and Services
The Council is committed to improving the access to oral
health services. We put people in touch with dental professionals who
are willing to help those in need. If you are interested in volunteering
your services, please go to our Volunteer Opportunity
page.
- Information and Referral Services
-
The Council maintains up-to-date information on dentists who accept
Medicaid and who provide care for low income patients. We also help
people with special needs. The Council regularly updates its roster
of accessible dental providers. For dentists in the Detroit metropolitan
area who accept Medicaid, click medicaid and
select your county.
- Emergency Assistance Program
-
The Council verifies an individual's eligibility and arranges for
emergency treatment through a network of volunteer dentists.
- Senior Dental Program
-
Low income adults over age 60 are matched with volunteer dentists
who provide comprehensive dental treatment. Clients pay 10%-30%
of the dentist's usual fee for services based on income and
family
size. Volunteer dentists donate part of their services. The difference
between the payment and the dentist's fee is an in-kind donation
to the Council.
