Volunteer
Tri-County Dental Health Council needs the dedication of
volunteers to achieve our mission. We offer the following volunteer opportunities
to those who want to contribute their time and services to improve oral
health for disadvantaged people:
- Emergency Assistance Program
- Volunteer dentists provide emergency dental treatments in their own
offices to unemployed or low income, uninsured individuals. Specific
treatment is decided by the treating dentist, and it is done "pro
bono". Commitment: no more more than one patient per month.
-
- Senior Denture Program
- Dentists volunteer to provide denture servces to uninsured low income
older adults. Commitment: Volunteer dentists decide the number of patients
they will treat per year.
-
- Board of Directors
- Board members can be dental professionals or other business professionals
from Wayne, Oakland or Macomb Counties. The Board's role is to set policy
for the Council and to ensure through active fundraising its vitality
as a community resource.
-
- Office Support
- Volunteers assist Council staff with data entry, follow-up on program
activities, compliation of statistics and some administrative duties.
